In the last few months two NanoPAT specific industrial use cases from the partners FLUIDINOVA and Cnano have been transferred to the MUG/BRAVE laboratories.
- In April 2021, we already reported about the preparation of Cnano samples, of silicon carbide (SiC) and titanium dioxide (TiO2), by BRAVE, i.e. the first steps of partner BRAVE preparing for online, real time particle size characterization of high-performance nano coatings. Furthermore, an electrolyte SiC/TiO2 nanoparticle reactor has been modelled and installed, where dispersion protocols for the SiC-NP electrolyte solutions have been established. Sample preparation and aggregation behaviour under low pH conditions have been investigated.
- For FLUIDINOVA a lab scale reactor for the synthesis of hydroxyapatite particles has been installed. After synthesis and chemically related reactor knowhow was transferred, reproducible synthesis and sample extraction procedures have been established.

In this picture, we can see how colleagues from BRAVE/MUG are producing hydroxyapatite, online guided (due to the COVID-19 side effects) by the colleagues from FLUIDINOVA.
For both partners, offline characterization with standard characterization methods (dynamic light scattering (DLS), nano particle tracking analysis (NTA) and qualitative optofluidic force induction (OF2i)) were performed. All results are now being evaluated and compared with each other in order to define further steps. We will keep you updated.
