The Leverage of IT for Engineering and Science (LITES) conference 2023 took hybrid place on 30 Oct. – 1 Nov. 2023 in the beautiful Istanbul (Türkiye). Organized collaboratively by the Turkish-German University, TU Berlin, and Uni Potsdam, LITES served as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange, fostering knowledge dissemination, promoting collaboration, and inspiring advancements in the realm of technology-driven solutions for complex challenges in Engineering and Science.
The conference included a wide array of topics, including information technology, sustainability, circular economy, logistics, smart cities, AI, automation, robotics, energy science, and more. It offered a space for experts and enthusiasts from diverse fields to discuss innovations, share research findings, and explore the intersection of IT with Engineering and Science. Aside from informative talks, the conference featured an industry workshop designed to bridge academic insights with practical applications. The event was dynamic platform for interdisciplinary exchange, bringing together many stakeholders academia, industry, policymakers, and more.
As part of the EU-funded NanoPAT consortium, University Potsdam are pioneering real-time nano-characterization Process Analytical Technologies to enhance industrial nanoparticle production. Their collaboration with industry partners is instrumental in testing and validating these monitoring technologies within pilot plants. At LITES 2023, Dr. João Ameixa (innoFSPEC, University of Potsdam) delivered an invited keynote talk in the Paper Session 6 “Material Science”. His presentation, entitled “innoFSPEC transfer lab Potsdam”, showcased their innovative work bridging science and technology as well as their work in NanoPAT.
