The developments within the project are progressing a lot! Between 24 and 29 April 2023, the IRIS team (James Bolton) visited Cnano facilities in Athens (Greece) for the online monitoring of nanoparticles in Cnano’s plating baths. Experiments with the TUS detector (developed by IRIS) were performed for the measurement of the particle size of ceramic nanoparticles dispersed in Ni-based electrolytic baths. The TUS detector will be integrated in Creative Nano’s plating baths for the online monitoring of ceramic nanoparticles during the production of nanocomposite coatings.
To evaluate the potential implementation of the TUS detector in Case Study 5, the TUS data was additionally compared with data collected by DLS. Preliminary analysis suggested a correlation between particle size and turbidity.
