Dr. Agnieszka Ochenduszko from Evonik Operations GmbH visited the University of Potsdam (UP) on 9th of August 2021. The aim of the visit was to discuss the first results of monitoring of the formation of silica nano-aggregates with inline photon density wave spectroscopy (PDW) and the potential of such measurements for future works.
During the meeting the sensitivity, potential and limitations of several methods used for particle size determination (SEM, CPS, DLS, PDWS) and the sources of possible differences given by different analytical methods were discussed with Sebastian Zimmermann, from UP.
Additionally, the information about the key stages of silica precipitation process and the control parameters have been exchanged. New precipitation and inline measurement of the formation and growth of the silica nano-structures were planned.
